About The Author
Hi there and welcome! I'm excited to share my journey with you through this blog. Originally from San Diego, I bring a background in education, where I've gained valuable insights and experiences. My goal is to connect with readers like you, share knowledge, and explore topics that spark curiosity and inspiration. Join me as I embark on this adventure and strive to make a positive impact!
I hold a Master's degree in Education and a Bachelor's degree in Social Science, complemented by a Clear California Teaching Credential. My teaching experience spans kindergarten through 12th grade, allowing me to engage with a diverse range of students and educational settings. I have served as the ASB advisor and co-chair of the Advisory Board, where I developed leadership skills and collaborated with colleagues to enhance student engagement. Additionally, I acted as the safety patrol advisor, fostering a sense of responsibility among students. I completed the MTSS training course, equipping me with strategies to support all learners, and I successfully brought innovative initiatives such as The Modern Classroom Project and the Code.org program to my district, demonstrating my commitment to improving educational practices and technology integration.
As the High School Independent Study teacher, I actively guide 9th-12th grade students in curating personalized educational paths, whether through traditional courses or Career Technical Education, to enhance their readiness for junior colleges, universities, or trade schools. The hybrid model of our program empowers students to develop autonomy in their learning, balancing independent coursework with engaging project-based experiences that foster critical skills and knowledge.
Upon completing my program at Concordia University, I aim to enhance my ability to leverage technology in crafting engaging lessons that prepare my students for the 21st-century job market. Additionally, I aspire for the knowledge gained in this program to underpin my five-year plan to transition into an administrative role, where I can advocate for students, their families, and colleagues to improve educational experiences.
